Licorice Fern in a Yellow Cedar
The Polypodium glycyrrhiza or Licorice Fern is usually found at a low elevation on a Bigleaf Maple, Red Alder or on rock cliffs. Finding it at an elevation of 870m in an ancient Yellow Cedar near Otter Lk is puzzling to scientists and warrants further investigation. Are we looking at a newly discovered sub-species of the Licorice Fern perhaps?
